Calvary Hill Baptist Church

Information for Candidates

Calvary Hill Baptist Church is opening its formal search for a new pastor for our congregation, which first met as a mission of Fairfax Baptist Church on June 1, 1958. We are located in Fairfax County, Virginia which is part of the Nation’s Capital Area surrounding Washington, DC. Fairfax County is home to more than one million people and is a diverse and multi-cultural county. The county regularly ranks at or near the top of all counties in the USA in education level and affluence. It is an exciting and challenging setting in which to live, build community, and engage in the work of God’s Kingdom coming and growing here.

Unless there are some truly extraordinary circumstances, the position will be bi-vocational with specific hours to be negotiated. Our previous Senior Pastor and his wife, who also served as the Associate Pastor and then Co-Pastor, left after an eighteen-year ministry to accept the position of Dean at a seminary in another state. They left with the love, support, and blessing of the congregation. The congregation thought it wise to enter into the Intentional Interim Ministry process which has been a fruitful experience. We have just completed that process and are beginning our search for God’s person to join us and lead us in fulfilling our Mission “to GROW together in Christ-like living, SHARE God’s love with the community and the world, and WELCOME all to join the journey.”

If you would be interested, or know someone whom you believe would be interested, please submit a resume and cover letter to: Pastor Search Committee, Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 9301 Little River Turnpike; Fairfax VA 22031 or via email to: We will be receiving submissions at least until June 30, 2018.
